Who we are

Chicago is a storyteller’s city and MAKE is the story’s magazine. Full of fiction, poetry, essays, and art, MAKE is substantial in both feel and scope. MAKE expands on the Chicago tradition to entertain and to inform. When readers open MAKE, they find writing that reflects their own lives as well as the lives of their neighbors.

What we are

Our biannual magazine features a series of fiction pieces, poetry, photography, and a nonfiction section, containing interviews, genre reviews, essays, and editorials. We sponsor author readings, short plays, and live music events in the Chicago area.

Where we are

MAKE circulates 2,000 copies twice a year throughout Chicago and beyond. Find MAKE in Chicago area bookstores and making the rounds at special events, such as readings and festivals. MAKE is also available in neighboring states, as well as New York and California. MAKE is available anywhere, anytime, online.
